March 23, 2009
Seriously, I’m bored with the food around my working place.. My lunch is always at Sri Petaling, Happy Garden or Serdang.. And it will always be in the few coffee shops in those areas.. =.=" YChen showed me an newspapers article about this restaurant called Uncle R in Sri Petaling, located just two shops beside Fusion Haven.. Weird that we have never noticed this shop, even though we know Fusion Haven’s existence.. =P
I passed by this street very often but I didn’t realize this restaurant’s existence.. -.-"
Uncle R specializes in Charcoal BBQ stuffs, especially the western food.. They set up a small grilling place outside the restaurant for preparing the grilled dishes.. So funny that they do that out of the shop instead of in the kitchen.. Guess they do not want to dirty the kitchen.. XD
Not grilled by Uncle R anymore.. =P
Their menu isn’t too fancy, but the variety available is just enough for you to choose from.. Neither too many nor too less.. Some of their drinks are available in regular or jumbo sizes.. I was wondering how jumbo could the Jumbo be, so I ordered it a large Watermelon Juice (RM6.90) to share.. And I regretted it very much, it could actually be shared by three persons.. However, there was this promotion on my second visit to the shop two days later.. The Jumbo size Carrot Juice cost only RM5.50.. Being a greedy and kiasu Malaysian, me and my friend decided to order that each… Ngehehe, we managed to finish it after…… two hours!!!! =P
It doesn’t look huge here but seriously, it’s huge!!! =P
The French Fries were good, the thicker type ones.. A little bit soft at the middle part, at the same time very crispy… XD
Worms? XD
We tried the Mushroom Soup (RM4.80).. It was very thick but I dislike the pepper they put onto the soup.. It was too much to my liking ler.. The soup became very peppery.. >.<"
Look at the pepper!!
The soup came with two tiny slices of garlic bread.. The breads were cut slightly too thin.. I think they weren’t fragrant enough and were a little bit too soft..
Not good!!
The cheapest western food from the menu was the Grilled BBQ Chicken (RM9.90), quite economic ler.. I presume all the western food are served with the same side dishes –> half a grilled potato, two slices of garlic breads and some green pea + carrot + corn (I hate this one..) The drumstick was soft, the gravy was quite thick.. I didn’t order this, but it looked fine though.. =P
Yummy, the grilled BBQ drumstick~
I had the Classic Grilled Lamb Chop (RM11.90).. Two slices of tender lamb chop.. It was grilled just right, not too hard, suits my liking.. XD The black pepper gravy wasn’t spicy but very fragrant and thick.. I like this one.. =)
I enjoyed this.. =)
I tried the Black Pepper Grilled Choice Steak (RM15.90) too on my second visit.. The steak was good, as the previous ones, very tender.. But I reckoned that the sauce was a little bit sour.. At first I thought the steak wasn’t fresh until I realized it was actually came from the sauce.. They put lemon into the sauce?! 0.0"
Sour Black Pepper Grilled Steak?!
Anyway, Uncle R is very friendly, he recognized me on my second visit, so we chatted for a while.. He wanted to spend us ice-cream but too bad that we were about to leave by that time.. Haha, what a nice Uncle, really know how to do business.. =P Ok la, I decided to pay another visit soon, since it’s affordable and I like the comfy place.. Hope I’ll still get my ice-cream~ XD
