Yumika Alina's Facebook profile

My name is Yumika. I was born on the 11th of February 1986 which makes me 23 years old this year (I'm so old T.T). I just started to lead a donkey life as a Trainee Software Engineer.. Since I am only a trainee, I am still very poor. Yumika is a boring person who sits with her laptop almost 24/7 watching dramas, animes and busybody-ing on others' blogs. She loves to eat very much which makes her looks rounder and rounder day by day. Btw, she is craving for pastas recently (and always). Yumika loves to travel too but too bad, she doesn't have money to do so. Therefore, she can just imagine her trips.

Dessert’s Bar @ Hartamas Shopping Centre

It has been long since I purposely went out for nice food.. Life has been boring lately, sticking with the same old types of meal.. Living poorly lately.. T.T YChen has been telling me about this Dessert’s Bar that sells sweet stuffs after she read some reviews about it.. We had been talking about it and at last we got to visit one of its outlets..

The cute menu~

There are few outlets around.. Casa Tropicana, Subang Parade, Mont Kiara, Hartamas and Menara Hap Seng.. We chose the one in Hartamas as it’s nearer to us, but the problem was that we didn’t know how to drive to Hartamas from my place.. So we tried our luck.. Fortunately we found our way there and it is freaking near.. =P

*drool* A menu that is full with desserts!!!

We looked at the menu and had a tough time deciding what to order.. XD I think we looked at the menu for at least 10 to 15 minutes.. Too many choices, all looked so good.. =P Anyway, there’s a bar at the center of the cafe, looks very exclusive.. =P

The red dessert bar.. =)

It was almost empty when we reached.. Maybe it was too early for desserts.. The cafe area was definitely a comfortable and cozy one.. Almost all the seats are couch type, and we sat at a corner that can view to other floors.. =)

I love couches! =D

We ordered one for each type to share since we only wanted to try the stuffs there.. I chose Vanilla Mango Soy Milk Smoothie (RM8.80) for my drink.. It was super substantial, milky and creamy.. It was too thick for my liking although it was really fragrant.. I hardly could finish the drink, it was like sucking some cream instead.. XD

One sip and my face turned >.<".. Although it looked healthy..

For cake, YChen chose to order Stawberry Charlotte (RM7.80).. It was very soft, a little sour like yogurt.. We thought it was quite good, portion not too big, good for us to share.. =)

Nice.. I like the soft texture.. =)

YChen seems anticipated for the crepe a lot, so she decided for that.. She chose the Caramel Banana (RM8) which I thought was good! THe crepe was thin and fragrant, although it was slightly over-soft.. The caramel sauce wasn’t too sweet, just nice to pair with the banana slices.. I like it..

This was good, although the caramel sauce looked a bit like peanut butter spread.. =P

There is this value meal offered by the cafe, between 12pm to 4pm.. With any of the sandwiches or wraps ordered, there will be a glass of free smoothies.. So we decided to get one of them too.. We ordered Sauteed Mushroom Wrap, as we thought it would be quite hard to cut and share a sandwich.. The wrap was good too.. It was filled with mushroom (of course la), with sliced onion and tomato.. Very flavourful, not too heavy, I thought it was nice.. =D

Chose Honey Mustard sauce.. Not bad.. XD

YChen had a glass of Apple Smoothie to go with the sandwich.. The smoothie was very thick, could see that they really blended it with many apples.. It turned brownish after it was left for a while.. It still tasted better than the vanilla mango.. =P

Full with green apples.. :D

I insisted to order the Bread and Butter Pudding (RM5.80), one of my favourite desserts all the time.. I can’t recall since when it became my favourite, but I would definitely order it whenever I saw it on the menu.. It can be very sucked if it’s not nicely done.. This one was OK.. Not to say bad but I had better ones somewhere.. It wasn’t as fragrant as I thought it would be..

The Bread and Pudding, with a small jar of butter milk.. =)

They separated the butter milk with the bread.. The bread wasn’t too soft, and the butter was just nice, not too sweet… But I still thought it lacked of something… Hmm.. Wonder.. The feel~ =P

Not too big piece.. :D

Last but not least, the best dessert of the day.. The Mango Pudding with Lemon Sorbet (RM8).. I LOVE the sorbet.. I was sweet (not too much) and sour.. Very refreshing, and super good to pair with the mango sauce/cubes.. We both eyed on this the whole time.. Finished in minutes.. XD The mango pudding in it was good too although I’m not a pudding fan.. It wasn’t too soft..

This is superb!! Extremely recommended.. XD

Overall, we were satisfied with the sweet stuffs today.. XD I think we ordered too much, or we chatted too much.. The desserts stayed too long on the table that they turned soft… =P We will definitely back for more, or at least, I will.. XD

The two satisfied fat girls.. =P

Ramli’s Burger is the Best!

I can’t count how many times it has rained today.. I was stuck in the jam for an hour.. -.-" Cold and hungry.. Felt so pity sitting alone in the car stepping on the clutch until I couldn’t feel my left leg.. T.T

Anyway, I was home early today as my dinner buddies are having their quarterly meeting now.. Lonely nyer~~ So I purposely went to take away a Ramli’s burger before coming back.. Yohoo~ For RM2.90, I could have such an addictive burger.. With excessive of chili sauce~ Yummy~ =D’ I think my Burger Ayam Special is much tastier than any of McD’s burger.. XD

Seriously yummy~~ XD

Muahahaha~ Let’s see when will be the next time I’m going to have it again.. Still drooling about it.. =P

Vivo American Pizza & Panini..

I realized that I didn’t write a food review post for quite some times.. I just stick to the same old food lately and got so boring with life.. T.T Anyway, visited this place in Berjaya Times Square LG floor lately, called the Vivo American Pizza & Panini.. Fuu, such a long name.. It was opened for quite some time but I didn’t have the urge to have my meal there.. However, my friend suggested that place one day and I thought it wasn’t a bad idea though..

Ready for the cake!! :D

The place was spacious with couches, but the service was not too good.. The staffs were slow and slow and slow.. Although the food were served just on time.. I tried a glass of Tea Latte (RM5.80), one of my favourite drinks.. Milky, smooth and I like the layer of foam on top of it.. Nothing too special from the Tea Lattes that I can get in other places though..

I suka Tea + Latte.. =P

The Green Tea Latte (RM5.80) was nice too.. Very strong green tea flavour and milky.. My friend said it tasted like seaweed.. 0.0" I found that it was good.. =)

Hmm, I prefer Green Tea Latte from Starbucks I guess..

My friend really loves chocolate, so she ordered this Chocolate Blended drink which I forgot its name and price.. but it was super sweet + the marshmallows.. >.<"

Sweet!!!

My all-time favourite, Carbonara Linguine (RM16.80) was a disappointment.. My friend already guessed it that I would order that.. Haha, is my love for Carbonara that obvious? =P This one wasn’t good.. It was creamy but not cheesy.. Moreover, it wasn’t fragrant at all and super sticky when it got cold.. I didn’t finish the meal.. >.<"

The presentation wasn’t good as well..

My friend had the Creamy Mushroom Baked Rice (or something like that, RM10.90).. I didn’t try it but she commented that it was OK, just that the mushroom taste was a little bit too strong.. It didn’t look nice to me though..

This angle looks nice wor.. =P

We saw this promotion of getting a slice of cake of the day for RM4.80 with purchase above RM20 (or RM30? I forgot).. So we asked the waiter, "What’s the cake of the day?".. He answered, "Anyone.." I straight away gave him that 0.0" look.. If it means anything from the cake shelf, then why call it the cake of the day? Anyway, I picked the Oreo Cheesecake, which was sucks.. I couldn’t taste any oreo although it was topped with Oreo crumbs.. -.-" Moreover, it was a little disgusting since I had Carbonara earlier and this cake was very cheesy.. 0.0"

Looks OK but didn’t taste good..

Previously, I got to try the Mango Mousse (RM5.80) as well.. It was soft but the mango taste wasn’t strong.. I didn’t like that kind of texture though.. Basically, I don’t like mousse.. T.T

Looks like those erasers.. Edible?

Their Tiramisu (RM5.80) was OK although I’ve had better ones.. There were these two biscuit sticks on the cake to pair with it.. I would say it was not bad lor…

This was the cake that attracted us in.. >.<"

A Crowded Potluck Session.. =P

QY has planned for a potluck session in Okane’s house two weeks ago since it has already been quite sometimes since the last time WST has our makan session.. XD Few days before the session, they had sent out a list of food that we would bring/cook.. Wow, didn’t know there are so many chefs in AIGGS.. =P Since I can’t cook and was lazy to take away things, I decided to go to Okane’s house early to help QY prepare the ingredients..

Uncle QY looked so professional.. =P

By around 7pm, most of them who volunteered to cook had arrived at the house waiting for turn to cook.. Too bad Okane only has one stove in his house, so they only finished cooking at around 8++ to 9pm.. +.+” I was already super hungry by then until feeling numbed already… T.T

The girls only waited to eat.. =P

Let’s see what they have cooked.. QY did three dishes.. The first was the Fried Pork Chop.. Me and SC helped to prepare the pork when it was still semi-frozen..-.-“ I could hardly feel my hands when I was preparing it and I know QY was purposely making me did that..

The one that we prepared the ingredients..

Then he made the Beer Chicken as well.. He divided the cooking into twice as the wok in Okane’s house is a little bit too small, since QY was preparing the portion for 20 people.. 0.0” The first round failed as he accidentally put too much of sugar.. The second round was OK, so he mixed both together and it actually tasted good! I like this dish very much.. XD

This was much nicer than the first time he cooked it for us.. XD

Okane who doesn’t really cook normally wanted to cook Sweet and Sour Squids for us.. He washed and cut the squids professionally, didn’t look like doesn’t know to cook actually.. He marinated the cucumber the previous night and fried the squids with it and chili.. It tasted very flavourful.. He said the squids were a little bit too soft, but I thought it was still OK.. I like it a lot too.. =)

Hey I like it.. And the presentation too.. He has the talent to cook!

Keng Poh brought along the ingredients to make this Thai Eggs dish with some pickled vegetables.. I only tried a little bit and thought it was quite sour.. =P

The cold dish.. =)

Yen Lee boiled the tom yum soup on the dining table using some instant tom yum paste that SC brought.. She put in sausages, vegetables and some japanese fish balls too.. XD Very sour, spicy and fragrant.. Super appetizing but I could not have much because I was still not that well back then.. T.T

Yummy yummy tom yum.. Everyone liked it.. :D

Gratia fried a plate of mixed vegetables with beancurd.. I thought it was good although it’s a simple dish.. Remind me of my Mom’s cooking.. >.<"

I love button mushrooms~

Shu Mei and KK went and took away some satays for us… Since we were a bunch of hungry ghosts, the satays were finished the moment they were served on the table.. Wow~ Haha, tasted not bad though, bought in somewhere near Shu Mei’s house.. XD

They bought 80 sticks if I’m not mistaken.. XD

Lastly, QY was busy cooking this super dish.. Omelette without egg.. Only mozarella cheese and mushrooms.. He dumped the whole pack of cheese into the wok.. So the dish was very sticky and cheesy.. It had a slight bitter taste due to the cheese but I thought it was good.. QY said that dish failed because it was not salty enough.. It had to be eaten when it’s still hot, else it will be quite disgusting.. =P

Mushrooms drown in cheese.. >.<"

For dessert, we had ice-cream sponsored by TJY (Actually bought from his shop but he refused to accept our money later on, thanks!).. Chocolate flavour, nothing special.. I realized someone ate it earlier in their office, got a big hole on the ice-cream when we opened the cover.. =.= We were told it was Edward and Kelvin’s job.. >.<" Ok la, pity them couldn’t join us, let them eat the ice-cream la..

Aiks, got hole already..

After the dinner, the guys brought out a cake to celebrate Wai Leng’s belated birthday.. She was so surprised and happy.. WST always give surprise to its members! Haha..

Happy Belated Birthday to WST’s yuen lou, Wai Leng!! =D

After that was drinking and chatting session.. Sam tried to bluff the girls with his 9 years old toothpick trick.. To my surprise, the girls were really excited about the trick.. I remember my Dad did that when I was very young, and these girls still kena bluffed.. =P After that, all of them tried so hard to break his trick… They were playing with the toothpicks the whole night.. OMG.. -.-"

The toothpick group.. =P

Anyway, it was a full and fun night.. Thanks to the organizers and the chefs for the successful potluck session.. I guess everyone had fun too.. And it was Angeline’s last day in the company that day.. Although it’s a bit late now, but adios to Angeline~ Wish her all the best Ok? XD

Me and the sweet Angeline.. =)
