ABOUT ME

Yumika Alina's Facebook profile

My name is Yumika. I was born on the 11th of February 1986 which makes me 23 years old this year (I'm so old T.T). I just started to lead a donkey life as a Trainee Software Engineer.. Since I am only a trainee, I am still very poor. Yumika is a boring person who sits with her laptop almost 24/7 watching dramas, animes and busybody-ing on others' blogs. She loves to eat very much which makes her looks rounder and rounder day by day. Btw, she is craving for pastas recently (and always). Yumika loves to travel too but too bad, she doesn't have money to do so. Therefore, she can just imagine her trips.

First Ever Hiking in Broga Hill..

I know I’m super outdated and I haven’t been updating for a long long long time.. Forgive me as I’ve grown even lazier lately.. Discharged from the hospital for a few days, and I’m still coughing a lot.. T.T Anyway, it all started by my first ever hiking… I’ve never hiked in my life before.. All the while I thought "Why the fuss going to the tip of a hill breathe some cool air and coming down again?!".. Few weeks back, one of my ex-colleagues, George planned a hiking to Broga Hill in Semenyih.. He asked me along and I thought for a while.. Based on reviews, it’s quite easy to hike, good for beginners too…

So we gathered at 5am to depart to Semenyih.. OMG, I only slept for like 2 hours that ‘night’ and drove with my eyes half opened.. I regretted and wondered why I agreed to go at the very first place… We reached Broga Hill about 5:45am and started our journey.. It was really dark, not even a single light spotted…

Broga Hill before sunrise.. Photos by George..

We walked like an hour up to the peak.. The slopes were slippery and I wasn’t too comfortable throughout the journey.. It has been centuries since I trained myself, so I almost stopped breathing by the time we reached the first peak.. @.@" But I still made it to the second peak with the help of some of them.. Thanks CW for carrying my bag, and thanks QY for helping me up.. XD I admit I’m a loser.. =P

Yay, we reached the peak!!!

As soon as we reached the peak, the photographer group took out their ‘cannons’ and started shooting everywhere.. It was very crowded at the peak.. Not too beautiful as they described.. I thought it should be full of Lalang but some of the places are bald.. =.="

Portrait with the grass.. Each of us has one of these..

We waited until the sun rise and the photographers were very excited taking photos… We enjoyed the cool breeze up there although it was a little bit sunny.. We made our way down at around 9pm and by that time, the place was really really crowded.. I don’t know why the people hike at that time when it was so hottttt……….. The route down was super slippery.. So being a loser, I needed help from guys to hold me to get down the hill.. XD

At the entrance before heading back~

After we got down, we headed to Kuchai Lama for dim sum breakfast.. Something that we had been waiting since the moment we stepped on Broga Hill.. =P The dim sum there were great, the place was very crowded as well.. And then we headed home and I fainted as soon as I saw my bed.. XD

Great dim sum at Kuchai Lama!

In and Out

Hey all.. I have been missing for quite some time… Two weeks back, I was busy with all kind of activities with my ex-colleagues.. Dinner, yumcha, everything that made me home late.. Therefore I didn’t have much time to touch my blog… Those times were really great..

And then I was down with cough/fever… Had few days of MC, consulted few doctors and I was still coughing my lungs out.. To the extend that I really felt my chests in extreme pain.. So I went to the hospital to get my lungs X-ray-ed.. It turned out that 1/3 of my left lung was infected… Some sort of pneumonia.. No wonder I coughed so hard and the cough didn’t seem to go away no matter what medicine I took..

So I was admitted to the hospital… Getting the sodium drip, antibiotic trip, taking medicines and getting the chest physio done so that I could spit out the phlegm from the lungs.. That physio was really killing.. Two people hitting my back (Like massage) so that I could cough hardly.. -.-"

The antibiotic drip was also painful, I could feel the antibiotic flowed in the nerves in my arm… OMG… I have stayed in the ward for four days.. It was really killing..

I received many smses and calls ever since I was admitted (I posted about it on Facebook, so everyone knew I was admitted).. Many of them wanted to visit me but I brushed them off.. I didn’t want them to see the zombie me.. But I really feel glad that I have such a big bunch of caring friends..

My ex-colleagues came to the hospital without my knowing.. They really surprised me and I felt great to have such friends.. But deep inside, I wished they never came.. I seriously don’t like my friends saw my sick face… But anyway, I was discharged today but still on medication for a week… Hope I can fully recover after taking all the medicines… =)

Alvon and Shu Mei’s Birthday @ Tak Fok, Puchong..

I realized that I only will update my blog a week after the event took place.. =P Have been quite busy lately, too many things to do but too less time for me.. T.T Anyway, last Friday my ex-colleagues and me went to celebrate the birthdays of a guy and a girl.. =) The organizer decided to go for the crab meal at Tak Fok in Bandar Puteri Puchong.. It is actually a branch of the famous one in Kepong.. Many have commented that food served in the Puchong branch is worse than the original one a lot.. But I guess regardless the food, it’s the companies that count.. =)

To celebrate their birthday.. =)

There were 18 of us and were splitted into two tables.. We ordered the same thing though.. First to serve was the Tong Po Pork.. We reckoned that the gravy wasn’t thick enough and it wasn’t that flavourful too.. -.-" I remember this dish that served by Esquire Kitchen previously was far better..

Doesn’t look that nice though..

Anyway, the Tong Po meat’s gravy was good to go with the Fried Buns.. I think this probably was the best dish of the night.. Crunchy, fragrant but oily.. Tasted like those mini Deep Fried Char Siew Bun without the char siew of course.. =P

What? The nicest dish of the night was the buns?

Some also dip the buns with the gravy of the Butter Cheese Crab.. If I didn’t remember wrongly, the crab was RM20 per kg.. It was so cheap.. But seriously, nothing special about this dish.. The crab wasn’t too fresh and the gravy wasn’t that fragrant as well..

Looks nice but didn’t taste nice.. Anyway, the portion was small though..

Then we had the Beancurd with mushroom… Nothing special, I think the portion was a little too small for 9 of us..

Normal dish..

Another small portion one was this Fried Yam (Fatt Put) dish.. The yam wasn’t too soft, nothing too great.. The portion was really really small… Each a bite of the yam already finished the whole thing… =.="

I had much nicer ones… -.-"

The normal Belacan Kangkung.. Kangkung lor, what’s so nice?

One of our favourite dishes all the time..

The last dish was the Salty Egg Crab which was about RM22 per kg… Slightly too salty, and again, the crabs weren’t that fresh.. I don’t like it..

The food here were bad… T.T

Overall, I really think the dish there were just OK… Can get this kind of food anywhere, I don’t know what so great about it, maybe the cheap price la.. But anyway, I enjoyed the evening very much.. A lot of jokes and laughters.. Too bad this kind of days won’t last long.. It is going to end very soon… T.T

Our big crowd.. XD

After the eating session, we proceeded to Bistro 32 nearby for a drink.. The place was small to accomodate us.. We stuff ourselves at the couch area.. I don’t like bistros… T.T Few of us left about 1 hour of sitting, and the other bunch continued the session until past midnight… =) Cheers~

Really love you guys~~ Kampai~~~~ XD

Gathering at Charms Cafe, One Utama..

I have been disappearing again… XD I just don’t know why I feel so tired lately, was sick for few days and I’m still feeling a little bit blur blur today… -.-" Anyway, I wonder whether there is still anyone reading my blog.. =P

Last Friday YChen called us CS girls out for a gathering.. It’s because one of our friends was leaving for UK for a summer degree program.. It’s only a 3-month program (I didn’t see her for more than 4 months actually..), I think I won’t know she has gone to UK even when I see her 3 months later if YChen didn’t tell me about it…

Since our friend stays at Bandar Utama, YChen decided to gather at One Utama after work… OMG, it was a massive jam… -.-" Anyway, we ended up in Charms Cafe.. Ths was my second visit to the cafe…. I always wanted to sit at the swing area but we didn’t get that place though…. T.T

The Charm Cafe at One Utama.. Nice place..

Looked at the menu for long… Couldn’t decide what to order… XD We ended up ordered some weird drinks… Someone ordered the Vietnamese Coffee… I never tried that before also.. It reminds me of the yellow container that we use to boil eggs at the coffee shops.. XD Need to wait for the coffee to finish dripping from the container before can enjoy it…

They have a special name for it, I can’t remember..

The coffee came with a piece of Marie biscuit.. My friend said, "Wow, they want me to dip the biscuit like those uncles do in the coffee shop? >.<"" Hahaha..

The coffee, ready to be drank..

My refreshing Apple Juice.. It was really nice one.. Not too sweet but cooling.. =D YChen had the same thing as me..

Apple Juice, I likey… XD

Someone had this Mocha Blast thingy Ice Blended.. She always likes this kind of icy drinks..

Reminds me of Starbucks.. Whipped cream!!!

Orange + Banana Juice.. Very thick… My friend couldn’t finish it after her Fried Rice meal..

*Burp*

YChen ordered a glass of Fruity Lychee for second round, and she thought it looked different from the illustration.. Too much of cincau I think.. She said that it was very sweet, as if she was drinking sugar syrup… >.<

Sugar Syrup..

Apple Mint Juice…. Sounds gross.. It tasted not too different from the Apple Kasturi Juice.. A little bit soury, didn’t have too strong of the mint flavour though..

Looks eww but tasted OK la..

For food.. Someone ordered Nasi Lemak Special.. Very big portion, a full bowl of Rendang chicken… She hardly could finish it..

I had a similar thing that afternoon.. So I felt @.@ when I saw this again..

Yi-Pei had the chicken Skewer combo… Ala-carte BBQ style.. Haha, she very scared that her chicken meats would go burnt… Anyway, I think it’s a little bit oversalty..

Smoke!!

But it’s good to pair with rice la.. Few pieces of chicken could pair with the whole plate of rice…

Rice!!!

Mei Yee had Vietnamese Fried Rice and it was fried with belacan, very fragrant but a little too salty again.. The portion was big too and she struggled to finish it…

Rice again!!

The best thing was that, I forgot to take photo of the one I had.. -.-" I had Green Curry Seafood Spaghetti which I thought was very good.. Very thick and flavourful… XD One of the friends, Beryl came late and had a whole plate of Fried Carrot Cake…. -.-" I never can finish that alone….

Carrot Cake.. *burp*

Since we sat there for very long, I decided to go for dessert which was the Ice Kacang… For RM5++, the portion was quite big, I scared it with Yi-Pei.. And it was really full of ingredients.. Red beans, sweet corns, cincau… Yummy… They didn’t put too much syrup on it, so it wasn’t too sweet.. :D

This one nice…

Another friend ordered the Coconut Ice Kacang, which sounded very weird.. Came with four pieces of Marie biscuit.. What a weird combination.. =.=" But tasted not too bad.. They put in sea coconut slices too.. I still prefer the old style Ice Kacang.. XD

This looks nice or not?

Overall, the session was fun and the food were OK… The place is not really spacious but quite comfortable, Joyce said it’s a little bit warm there because it was opened at the second floor walk way..

Say cheeeesssseeeee… XD

Terence’s House Warming Session..

Last week, one of our colleagues, Terence has sent out an invitation to his house warming session.. =) I was considering whether to go or not initially.. Since some of them were going, so I decided to join them on Saturday evening.. So we met up at the office and departed to his house since it was around that area as well.. However, we went to search for a gift to him before going.. So we dropped by Jusco IOI.. We thought of buying an Electrolux vacuum cleaner for him as he wished for it…

Terence wanted this one.. He emphasized he doesn’t want a pink one.. It’s not pink anyway.. -.-"

However, we dug the whole IOI Mall and couldn’t find it.. As we were late by that time, we decided to get two bottles of wine to his house.. -.-" We should have got nicer ones, but someone just wanted to stick to the red wine.. Anyway, by the time we reached Terence’s house, it was already 8++… So we started with the eating session soon after we reached.. We were super d*** hungry.. T.T Food was catered and tasted ok la~ What you want somemore, free for us leh~ (Aiks, now I recall that I haven’t paid my colleague for the wine’s bill.. 0.0")

Two pink ladies at Terence’s house.. She’s Yuh Fang.. =)

About 9++pm, the guests were leaving one by one as most of them brought their kids along.. So Terence sat with us and served us more beer, and then all kinds of alcohol drinks.. -.-"

We got Kilkenny!!

When almost all of the guests left, Terence’s wife invited us to continue the session in the house instead.. So we moved in and Terence continued serving us weird alcohol.. Ngahaha.. Sorry la, not into this ma…

This Hazelnut liquor is nice!! Very aromatic but I don’t like alcohol.. >.<"

The (half) drunk Aylwin started his all sorts of ghost stories… They really made me so scared that I ‘flew’ back home after the session.. T.T I don’t want to talk to him anymore when he’s drunk next time… Anyway, I enjoyed the chats, the session was great.. I thought of hanging around for an hour or two before moving to somewhere else for yumcha session.. But we ended up sat there until almost 12am.. =P Thanks Terence for the session and congratulations on the new house!! XD

The colleagues at Terence’s house.. XD

Goodbye to the Koreans..

Last Friday marked the last day of our fellow Korean colleagues working with us.. They are going to be back to their country tomorrow.. We have planned for a lunch session initially, but they couldn’t make it as they had to leave the office at 11am.. T.T One of the Koreans was sick, so we actually didn’t see him for few weeks already.. I don’t think we’ll see them anymore again.. Don’t think they will come back to Malaysia anytime soon… =(

Our workplace before it became more empty..

I still remember what I told my friends when I just joined this company… I was comparing the people with the old ones.. Obviously, there is a huge difference, especially the Koreans.. I didn’t really talk to them at the very beginning.. I thought it was hard to communicate with them.. I could sit there for a week without talking to them.. Only Hi and Bye.. Sometimes even none of them.. So I told them I really didn’t know how to talk to them..

Kim and Jin… Too bad Baek wasn’t there..

But after so many months of working together, although we aren’t that close.. But at least they are really a bunch of nice people.. They are simple but yet live happily~ XD Have to learn that kind of spirit from them.. Anyway.. The office definitely is empty a lot after they left.. We will definitely miss them.. And we shall wish them all the best.. XD

With everyone before they left… Good bye… T.T

Hidden Treasures @ Sing Kee, Taman Desa..

Hey all~ I don’t know why I just like to neglect my blog~ XD Anyway, some updates on food this time.. Long time didn’t do this.. =P

My Dad had often mentioned to me that there is this wan tan mee shop in Taman Desa which is very nice.. I think he spent almost everyday at that area, so he knows well about it.. On my Dad’s birthday last month, we had our breakfast at this shop, Sing Kee as my Dad needed to go to the site that day.. It was my first time in Taman Desa.. I didn’t know there are so many eateries there.. XD

Sing Kee, located at the stretch of shoplots in Taman Desa..

I thought it was good… So I suggested to my colleagues and we have been there for twice for lunch.. They said that it was so-so but I thought it was good la (Maybe because of my first experience there, my Dad ordered the right thing.. XD) The roasted pork (Siew Yuk) was nothing special.. I’m never a fan of Siew Yuk anyway.. The skin was quite crunchy and the meat was juicy enough.. Never ask me to comment on Siew Yuk actually… I don’t know how to rate it.. =P

Siew Yuk.. Looks appetizing leh? But I don’t really fancy them..

This shop is quite famous with their roasted duck… The skin was very thin, fragrant and crispy.. Although I seldom eat duck, I thought it was slightly better than those sold outside..

Fuhh.. Shiny skins.. Better than my skin~ XD

The best thing of this place is the Char Siew.. Really it’s the best I’ve got so far.. You have to order for the half lean-fat with more burnt ones.. The burnt parts were really crunchy.. (I’ve never had something like this..) The Char Siew sauce was very sweet and sticky.. The meat was soft… OMG….. I really love it… Really "umpphhh" on every bite~ XD

Juicy Char Siew… Fuuhhh.. Drooling~

I paired the meats with dried noodle… The noodle was very bountiful and chewy.. I love this type of thin wan tan mee.. XD The sauce was ok, not too salty and flavourful.. XD Overall, I’m satisfied with it..

The one I had was plain one.. This photo was taken from another occasion which I had the Wan Tan Mee there..

It was 1++pm and the Wu Kok (Yam Dumplings?) are ready!!!! My Dad mentioned that their pastries are nice too.. So me and my colleague tried them while they were still hot.. Hmm, it was quite disappointed actually.. Although the skin were deep fried crispily, But I think the yam was too…… how to say……. padat? =P And the pork filling wasn’t sweet at all.. I like the sweeter type… >.<" I had a nicer one this morning from Jalan Ipoh.. XD

The Wu Kok was very huge.. 0.0"

Night at the Museum 2…

OMG, can’t believe that I’m abandoning my blog again.. Have been really lazy to update lately… Life is boring… Weather is hot… Anyway, it has been REALLY long since I reviewed a movie… I can’t remember what movie I reviewed the last.. I watched movie every now and then.. But of course not as frequent as last time during the movie freak days.. =P And normally those movies that I went for were outdated, few weeks after their first release…

I planned for a movie night last Friday with some of my ex-colleagues.. Love outings with them.. We went to Happy Garden for dinner with few of other ex-colleagues as well and headed to Mid Valley for movie.. It was soooo crowded there.. People really love Friday night movies ya?

Hmm.. Back to the summary of the movie.. Oh yea, we went for Night at the Museum 2.. If you have watched the first one (I guess almsot everyone did..), it’s about the museum would turn alive after sunset.. In this sequel, the wax figures were sent to the national archives because of some new fancy technologies were introduced at the museum.. However, in the archives, the bunch met with some unfriendly history figures that had thought of conquering the world after they came alive.. So Larry (Ben Stiller) went all the way to the National Archives in Smithsonian to rescue his ‘friends’.. There was where he met with one of the wax figures that came alive, Amelia Earhart (Amy Adams), who was the first woman who flew across the Atlantic (Right? I forgot..) So, what happened and how the adventure ended, you shall watch by yourselves.. XD

Basically, I think it was funny… Many people find it not good including my Brother.. He said it was a waste of money.. Most of the people said the first is better than this one… I thought this second one is better.. I laughed my lungs out at some of the parts.. I thought it was really good one to release tensions after a week long of work… I was very excited about it but my other friends came out with some sleepy faces.. -.-"

The poster… Funny..

After movie, we went to OUG’s Steven’s Corner for a drink… It was so crowded at night… We could hardly find a parking.. -.-" But it was great… Should plan more outings like this with them, else life is really a boring one… >.<"
